Where do I get an “alternative fuel” vehicle?

I really want one that will run on vegetable oil.
Or ethanol.
Are you kidding me?
Ethanol is less efficient?
Why don’t they tell you that in all the “go yellow” commercials?

Get a bicycle, eat food cooked in vegetable oil and have a glass of wine, then go for a ride.
alternative fuel diesels will run on vegetable oil, alternative rated gasoline engines will run on alcohol or gas/alcohol mix loke E-85. They are all so new almost all can only be found at new car dealers!
For a car to run on used vegetable oil, the engine will have to be modified. The modification is fairly simple and shouldn’t cost too much.
There are lots of cars you can buy that are already set up for E-85: Ford Taurus, Chrysler Voyager Minivan, Ford Explorer, dodge Ram pickups and Mazda 3000 pickups, and much more.
This website will help you learn about ethanol powered cars, making your own ethanol, etc. alcohol .tripod. com/id1.html (delete the spaces)
GM will be the first out next year with ethanol (85%) mix vehicles. Be reminded your fuel economy goes down a third to go the same distance. So it’s like paying over $4/gal at today’s prices. You could also by a car that runs on biodiesel today if your in the states. I think VW sells em. That’s diesel made from canola oil or other vegetable oil. Biodiesel is available today.
ethanol is really not any better then fuel. i have a 2007 yukon that can use ethanol, but you have to fill up your vehicle more, because it uses more energy, it even says so in the manual. AND, ethanol can not run through pipelines, so there are constanly big trucks using regular gas, so in the process of getting the ethanol, they are using just as much gas…
if you really want to help, get a hybrid. I would suggest the toyota prius. i know it doesnt look all that good, but it gets 50 mpg city, and 60 mpg highway, and it is relatively cheap, it starts out at $20,000.
i did a mpg test thing online, and i know that my suv gets 12 mpg city and 15 highway. i spend 4500 dollars a year on gas JUST going to work, NOT including all the other driving i do. but with the prius, i would only spend 950 dollars a year going to work, so it literally pays for its self (for me it would) in like… 5 years, just in gas.
ethanol is just another way for the government to get even more money from fuel, literally. as i said before, yes, it is cheaper, BUT, you have to fill your tank more using ethanol then you do using regular
good luck =]
If your car is new enough you can convert it to ethanol fuel. There are other cars being made for quite sometime that are flex fuel which is the same thing but already compatible. Do remember that ethanol may be cheaper it is also 30 percent less efficient in millage than gasoline.
Any gasoline engine will burn ethanol, propane (about $2.00/gal) or natural gas wiht no modification to the engine. It’s the fuel delivery system that requires modifying. Diesels will run on veggie oil, all you have to do it heat the oil, make sure it doesn’t solidify in the lines, and use different fuel lines.
